Recipe: Skillet Garlic Butter Herb Steak & Potatoes

Is there anything better than a one-skillet meal? This recipe is quick, requires very few ingredients and when it comes to flavor it simply cannot be beaten. Give this one a try and treat yourself to 5-star restaurant quality in the comfort of your own home.


Garlic Butter Compound:

  • ¼ cup Butter, softened
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp. Thyme, chopped
  • 1 tsp. Rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tsp. Oregano, chopped


  1. In a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and butter, then add potatoes, garlic, thyme, rosemary and oregano. Cook for about 3 minutes, flip the potatoes and cook for an additional 3 minutes or until fork tender. Remove and set aside.
  2. Turn the skillet to high heat. Add the steaks and sear on each side for about 3 minutes until outside has a crispy, golden-brown crust. Reduce heat to medium-high and continue to cook to desired doneness.
  3. Just before the steaks are done, mix the remaining butter, garlic, and fresh chopped herbs, and slather on top of steaks.
  4. Add the potatoes back to the skillet and heat through while the butter melts into the steaks.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy!
