Looking to spice up your weeknight dinner routine? This Hot Honey Chicken Bowl hits every note—crispy chicken, tender rice, fresh veggies, and a drizzle of sticky-sweet heat that ties it all together.

It’s fast, flavorful, and endlessly customizable. Whether you're feeding picky eaters or adventurous foodies, this one-bowl wonder delivers big flavor with minimal effort. And when you start with Passanante’s clean, high-quality chicken, every bite tastes better.

Ingredients:

For the Chicken:

  • 1½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or tenders (Passanante’s preferred!)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Oil for pan-frying

For the Hot Honey Sauce:

  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 1–2 tbsp hot sauce (adjust to heat preference)
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • Pinch of salt

For the Bowls:

  • 2 cups cooked white or jasmine rice
  • 1½ cups steamed or roasted broccoli
  • 1 cup shredded carrots or slaw mix
  • Sliced green onions & sesame seeds (for garnish)

How to Make It:

1. Prep & Bread the Chicken
Cut chicken into bite-sized chunks. In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs. In another, combine flour with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Dip chicken pieces in egg, then dredge in seasoned flour.

2. Cook Until Golden
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Working in batches, fry chicken pieces for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

3. Make the Hot Honey Glaze
In a small saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, red pepper flakes, vinegar, and a pinch of salt. Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.

4. Assemble Your Bowls
Spoon rice into bowls, top with broccoli, carrots/slaw, and crispy chicken. Drizzle generously with hot honey sauce and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Tips & Variations:

  • Bake or Air Fry: Want a lighter version? Bake or air fry the breaded chicken instead of pan-frying.
  • Swap the Grain: Use brown rice, quinoa, or cauliflower rice for a different base.
  • Make it Meatless: Sub in crispy tofu or cauliflower for a vegetarian version.
  • Add Creaminess: A drizzle of ranch or a dollop of Greek yogurt balances the heat beautifully.

Why It Works:

This recipe brings that sweet-heat balance we all love, paired with the satisfying crunch of crispy chicken and the freshness of veggie toppings. It's easy to prep ahead and assemble when you're ready—making it perfect for weeknights or meal prep lunches.
